Vallée de Joux
Vallée de Joux with its lake and long watch-making tradition is a world of its own in rugged and unspoilt countryside nestling between Jura Mountain Range. We fell in love with this little valley and we hope you will too!
Nature's big-screen, the Vallée de Joux offers a unique diversity of landscapes: from the banks of the lakes to the summits of the surrounding mountains.

Exploring the Natural Wonders
Want to burn off some calories after the delicious and abundant wedding dinner? You’re in luck! The Vallée de Joux offers plenty of outdoor activities for all tastes and fitness levels.

For breathtaking views, hike up Dent-de-Vaulion, the iconic mountain overlooking the valley. From the summit, enjoy a stunning panorama of the region, including the vast Risoud Forest, a place of myths and legends.
Prefer to cool off? Take a refreshing dip in one of the three beautiful lakes or try your hand at windsurfing, sailing, paddleboarding, or canoeing.
If you’d rather stay on land, explore the valley’s scenic cycling and hiking trails, perfect for an active outing with family and friends.
And of course, Lac de Joux is a hub for water activities—whether it’s kayaking, rowing, sailing, or simply gliding across the water on a paddleboat, there’s something for everyone!
Indoor Sports
For those who prefer indoor sports, the Vallée de Joux Sports Center is there to spoil you: indoor ice rink and swimming pool, tennis courts, Accro’Indoor (adventure course in the framework of the ice rink), fitness classes and weight room. After exercise, it's time to relax in the Wellness area where you can enjoy a sauna, a hammam and an outdoor jacuzzi.

Savor the Flavors of Vallée de Joux
Don't miss out Vallée de Joux's delicious products, many of which can be bought directly from the producers! While the valley is most known for the Vacherin Mont d'Or, a soft cheese with character that can be enjoyed cold, or baked in the oven, it is also home to a variety of chesse dairies, fresh fishes cought from the lake and Gentiane, a spirit distilled by using the root of young gentian plants. It's woody odour, the aroma of the roots and the lasting taste it leaves in your mouth makes it a unique drink that leaves no-one indifferent; you either love it or you hate it!

Cultural Heritage
While nature in the Vallée de Joux is grandiose, you can't leave without also discovering the rich cultural heritage of this birthplace of Haute Horlogerie, which has been practised here for over two centuries. There are a number of ways to immerse yourself in this world of precision, such as visiting the modern and interactive museum Espace Horloger Vallée de Joux. Many other smaller museums like the Regional Museum or Vacherin Mont-d'Or Museum teach visitors what the Vallée de Joux is all about; discretion and competence.
